Rosneft CEO denies Eni’s withdrawal from joint projects

MOSCOW, Oct 25 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft and Italian energy giant Eni are continuing their cooperation and have not left joint projects, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin told reporters late Wednesday.

“They have not withdrawn from any projects, the work continues and will continue in accordance with our agreements,” Sechin said.

Geological exploration on the Black Sea shelf has been held on schedule and no additional actions are needed at the moment, he said.

“Our cooperation with Eni is going on schedule,” Sechin said.

An employee of the Russian government administration said earlier on Wednesday that Eni had withdrawn from a project with Rosneft on the Black Sea shelf and is discussing a temporary suspension of projects on the Barents Sea shelf. Eni said later that these reports were only rumors.
